The City of Boulder (the "City") provides free wireless (Wi-Fi) broadband Internet access in and around select City facilities, parks and open spaces. If your computer/mobile device is Wi-Fi certified (802.11g/n/ac) with a standard Internet browser, you can connect to the Internet in these areas. You simply connect your Wi-Fi compliant computer or mobile device to the network and you will be connected to the Internet. You may have trouble connecting from densely foliated spaces or in areas adjacent to City facilities, parks and open spaces that provide this service.
Use of the City free Wi-Fi network is strictly at the user's own risk. The City is not responsible for the accuracy, authority, timeliness or completeness of the information or services available on the Internet. The City cannot guarantee that your computer or mobile device will work with the municipal Wi-Fi network.
The City of Boulder free Wi-Fi network is open to anyone and individual activity on the network is not limited or monitored. This means that network users may access Internet sites that may be harmful, graphic or offensive. The network does not filter or block any sites. Network administrators maintain the Wi-Fi network so that residents and visitors may find all that is offered online in the way of business and research. Adults are expected to regulate their own Internet usage and the City is not responsible for policing the Internet or for an Internet user's activity online. The City upholds and affirms the right of adults to have access to constitutionally-protected materials and means of expression.
By using the City free Wi-Fi network, a user accepts full responsibility for and acknowledges that he or she may:
The City respects the rights and responsibilities of parents and guardians in determining and monitoring the use of the Internet by children under the age of 18. The City and its network administrators are not responsible for monitoring a child's use of the Internet. Please know that children with proper computing equipment may access the Internet using the City free Wi-Fi network. Please plan accordingly, restricting a child's computer to limit such access if you are responsible for that child and if you are concerned about the Internet sites that your child may be visiting.
The City has and accepts no obligation to monitor your use of the Service nor to edit or censor content transmitted (via email, downloading, uploading, posting, or otherwise) through the Service. However, your access to the Service is conditioned on legal and appropriate use of the Service and your compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. You may not use the Service to
The City offers no warrantees or guarantees that any use of this Service is in any way secure, or that any privacy can be protected when using this Service. Use of this Service is entirely at the risk of the user, and the City is not responsible for any loss of any information that may arise from the use this Service, or for any loss, injury, or damages resulting from the use of the wireless Internet connection, including without limitation, consequential, indirect, special, punitive or incidental damages or lost profits, whether foreseeable or unforeseeable ("Losses"). You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the City, its officers, directors, employees, agents and affiliates from any Losses, including reasonable attorney's fees, arising out of or related to your use of the Service. Your access to this Service may be blocked, suspended, or terminated at any time for any reason including, but not limited to, violation of this Policy, actions that may lead to liability for the City, disruption of access to other users or networks or violation of applicable laws or regulations. The City reserves the right to discontinue this service at any time with no prior notice. Users must agree to the terms and conditions of use in order to access this Service.
